About

Tracey Chiang, Little Bird Press

While working as a graphic designer, I started Little Bird Press in New York in 2003 as a personal side-project. It began with a simple phrase that I would often say when walking by a small sparrow on the sidewalk, which was, “Hey, little bird!”… they were so charming and so nice to see every day among all the largeness of the city. The little birds inspired me to create something for myself that gave me the same feeling that they did — a pleasant break from the frenetic nature of my surroundings. Under the name, “Hey Little Bird”, I began to design cards and calendars with small, cute, and colorful illustrations. A year later, Hey Little Bird evolved into Little Bird Press, with the idea of the little bird as a reporter and messenger of news. The logo consisted of a small bird at a typewriter, a humorous play on the idea of writing in an old-fashioned way. In 2010, I updated the look of Little Bird Press to more aptly express the look of my most recent designs. I am now represented by colorful birds in flight — birds with purpose, birds having fun, everyday birds with sweet messages…

Over the years, I have sold my cards and calendars in stores across the country and overseas. I hope you enjoy my current line which includes cards, calendars, planners, posters, and ornaments.
